A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME...

I’ve wanted to work with children for as long as I can remember. After exploring different therapy careers, I fell completely in love with Speech and Language Therapy and Audiology — the idea of spending one-on-one time with children and their families, helping them communicate, interact and engage with the world, just felt right.

I graduated from Wits in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in Speech and Hearing Therapy, then completed my community service year at Ermelo Provincial Hospital in Mpumalanga. I worked with in- and out-patients and travelled to rural clinics, delivering speech-language and audiology services to communities who needed them most.

In 2011, I joined established practices in Alberton and the West Rand, providing audiological services and speech and language therapy to a large and varied caseload of children at practices and schools, both mainstream and remedial.

That’s when I knew speech and language therapy was where I needed to focus. I’ve completed training in NDT, PROMPT, DIR-Floortime and the SOS approach to feeding, and I continue to attend courses and workshops because staying current with the latest techniques and strategies isn’t optional — it’s essential.

In 2015, I opened my own practice with a clear vision: to offer a professional, dedicated, accessible and child-focused service. My team and I are passionate about working with children of all abilities, helping them reach their full potential.

What I offer:

Early Communication Skills Building the foundation for language before words even arrive. We work on eye contact, joint attention, gestures, turn-taking and play skills with babies and toddlers.

Articulation Helping children speak clearly and confidently by targeting specific speech sounds and improving overall intelligibility.

Language Development Supporting children to understand and use language effectively — vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, following instructions and expressing themselves.

Auditory Processing Helping children make sense of what they hear, even when their hearing is fine. We build skills to filter noise, follow instructions and process auditory information accurately.

Literacy Developing the underlying language skills needed for reading and writing — phonological awareness, decoding, spelling, comprehension and written expression.

Feeding Using the SOS approach to help children with picky eating, sensory sensitivities, oral motor challenges and mealtime anxiety. We work at each child’s pace to expand their diet and reduce stress.
