We believe in maintainable and manageable class sizes — not just what’s allowed, but what’s best for learning. Our goal is to create a nurturing environment where every learner receives as much individual attention, support, and guidance as possible.

In addition, our support staff undergo relevant training to ensure they contribute positively to the overall learning environment.

A: Yes, we do! At Creative Academy, we follow the official government school terms and run four exciting and engaging holiday programmes each year.
- For our Preschool, these holiday programmes are included in the school fees and provide a fun, structured environment during term breaks.
- At our Preparatory School, the campus closes completely during school holidays, and holiday programmes are optional and carry an additional cost.
Please note that during these holiday programmes, no formal curriculum work is covered. The focus is on creative play, social interaction, and enrichment activities, giving children a chance to relax, explore, and enjoy themselves in a safe environment. During this time, our regular staff take their well-earned leave, and we assign trusted, trained locum staff to ensure that our staff-to-child ratios are always maintained and that children continue to receive the care and attention they deserve.
Our holiday programmes are designed to be safe, stimulating, and fun, supporting working parents while ensuring children remain engaged and happy during the school breaks.
Creative Academy, we provide well-balanced, nutritious meals throughout the day, including:
- A healthy breakfast (preschools only)
- Wholesome morning and afternoon snacks
- A nutritious cooked lunch with a protein, starch, and vegetable.
We are a pork-free and nut-free school, ensuring the safety and inclusivity of all children. Parents do not need to pack lunch boxes, as all meals are provided on-site.
We also take special dietary requirements into account within reason, and work closely with families to accommodate allergies, religious beliefs and/ or medical needs where possible.
To promote good hydration and healthy habits, we provide each child with a labelled water bottle, which stays at school and is refilled regularly throughout the day. Our goal is to make healthy eating and hydration a seamless part of every child’s day — while making life a little easier for parents too.

A: Creative Academy is a school rooted in faith, guided by a strong Christian ethos that shapes our values, culture, and daily interactions.
While we are not aligned to a specific denomination, we are intentional about fostering a nurturing environment where children learn to live out Christian principles such as kindness, respect, compassion, and integrity.
Our approach includes:
- Teaching the real meaning of Christmas, Easter and all other Christian holidays.
- Incorporating praise and worship into our weekly routine as well as praying before meals and together as a school.
- Using a school-wide daily mantra: “We treat people the way we want to be treated”, to guide how we interact with others.
- Encouraging children to grow in character, empathy, and self-awareness through a foundation of faith.
We believe that faith is best taught through example — in how we speak, how we treat others, and how we serve our community. While our core is Christian, we welcome families who value our faith-based, values-driven approach to education despite being a different religion themselves.
A: To protect the health and wellbeing of all our learners and staff, children who are unwell should not attend school.
We ask that children stay home if they are showing signs of any contagious illness, such as fever, vomiting, diarrhoea, rashes, or flu-like symptoms. If a child becomes ill during the school day, parents or guardians will be contacted and asked to collect them promptly.
Our goal is to minimise the spread of illness, ensure sick children have time to rest and recover, and maintain a safe, healthy environment for all.
Please note that our full Illness and Medication Policy forms part of our admissions documentation, which all parents receive and agree to upon enrolment.
A: Yes, we do — in our Preschools, we understand that potty training is a developmental process, and each child progresses at their own pace. Our staff are experienced in supporting children who are not yet fully potty trained, and we work closely with parents to provide gentle guidance and consistency between home and school.
We kindly ask that parents provide:
- An adequate supply of nappies or pull-ups, if needed
- Extra changes of clothing
- All items clearly labelled
However, in our older grades, Gr RR and up, we require that children are fully potty trained before enrolment, as they are expected to be more independent in managing their personal care. With support, patience, and open communication, we make this transition as smooth and stress-free as possible for both learners and families.
A: At Creative Academy, we follow recognised and trusted curricula tailored to each stage of development:
- Our Preschool programme follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, which emphasises learning through play, multisensory learning, and exploration. This holistic approach supports early literacy, numeracy, creativity, and social skills in a nurturing environment.
- Our Grade R and Preparatory School classes follow the South African CAPS (Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement) curriculum. This ensures learners receive a structured and comprehensive education aligned with national standards, preparing them for success in formal schooling.
Across all grades, we enrich the curriculum with:
- Christian values and character education
- Opportunities for creative expression including art, music, and movement
- Emphasis on emotional intelligence, independence, and critical thinking
Our aim is to nurture confident, well-rounded learners equipped academically, socially, and emotionally for the next stages of their education and life.
